The puzzles are okay, and the world is pretty well realized, but in general the gameplay is lackluster, boring and limited. Just I expected, but too bad I guess.

You definitely know what's going on. The level designs are clever and fun. They definitely keep you engaged and entertained. These games are also surprisingly true to the books. While I like the movies I think I liked playing these games more than watching the movies. There is also a lot of game play. I was surprised at how many hours I put into this.

I MEAN imagine if you read the books and you want to watch the movies i tell you TO not watch the movies and play the lego games instead WHY you may ask because this lego game is ten times more faithful to the books than the movies, well there are some parts of the movie in the lego games so then people who watch the movie would understand but they reference the books all the time, so i think you will have a really great time playing this game as a harry potter fan, or even somebody looking for a game they can play and i tell you this game has content LOTS of content and its very worth the price for 40 bucks for this game. I managed to 100% complete lego harry potter years 1-4 in 35 hours ad lego harry years 5-7 40 hours to 100% complete, so you have a total of 75 amazing hours of lego gameplay. BUT sadly the one flaw is the replay value cuz after you 100% complete the game there is no reason to go back but i dont really care since there is so much content so what ever. JUST BUY THE GAME

Did we really need the LEGO Harry Potter Collection? No. Is it worth giving it a look and taking a trip down memory lane? Sure, why not… but the cheaper option of buying the originals is also a viable option.

Unfortunately the game suffers with a few technical issues every now and then and these do hold the game back a little bit.The camera in the game did get on my nerves a bit because it never seemed to go where I wanted it to go. I loved LEGOs as a kid and I enjoyed the Harry Potter movies when my son was Youngers, so when I first saw the announcement of LEGO Harry Potter Collection I was interested to say the least. Thankfully it’s a pretty good game as well but I will say that the shortcomings it suffers with do hold the game back quite a bit. Some of the shortcomings are small though and whilst it would’ve been nice to have had some voice acting included the visuals and sound design still do more than enough to immerse you. The biggest problem for me with this collection was the technical issues that kept popping up every now and then because they did frustrate me a little bit. Thankfully though this frustration didn’t last very long because the varied content makes you forget about the issues. Speaking about the content there’s a huge amount for you to sink your teeth into and when you combine that with the excellent and responsive controls you end up having quite a lot fun. At the end of the day then LEGO Harry Potter Collection does more than enough to satisfy fans of both genre’s and whilst it isn’t the best LEGO game out there it still does enough to get a thumbs up from me because you can tell that a lot of thought and effort has gone into the collection.

Almost a decade after its original release, LEGO Harry Potter is feeling the weight of his years. A lack of variety of mechanics and a level of not-so-rich graphic richness are flanked, however, to a carefree and stimulating gameplay.

After all is said and done, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection really is a fun game and with this being the definitive collection, it is the best way to play. Of course, you can get this on Xbox One or PS4, but you can only take the Switch version with you when you go see the next Fantastic Beasts film.

My son (now 7, 6 at the time I bought this game) has completed the game about 8 times, which means hours and hours and hours of play, and is still playing it from time to time. Literally endless play after completing the game, just to unlock rare and expensive characters, and to find and complete all kinds of bonus levels, some of which pays handsomely to buy the characters you want.Gameplay is great, both in 1-player and 2-player mode, where a more experienced player may assist a younger player. Some of the puzzles and foes require some help to solve/defeat. It's great for non-native English speakers, that there are no English dialogue in the game, that needs to be explained, like in the LEGO Marvel games. The characters simply imply emotions and what else in their facial expressions and grunts/sounds, so that the story gets through, no matter what language one knows.Great graphics and great mood too in both games. Originally bought this game for the Wii, but after seeing the overall improvements to graphics and sound, just had to buy it for the PS4.Overall, an awesome purchase.

I can only recommend this collection to people who intend to play it with a young Potter fan. Otherwise Lego Star Wars or Lego Hobbit will be a better choice, because these games are simply better.

The enhancements due to the platform jump aren't truly significant, but they help make an already clean-looking game shine just a tiny bit more. Unless you've played these to death on previous consoles, this is certainly a game that deserves to be checked out by those who still adore the LEGO games without question.

A nice comeback, were it not for the bugs and glitches. They were present in the previous versions and, unfortunately, appear to have made the journey to this generation of consoles along with everything else.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a fancy-free, funny and robust brickified version of the eight Harry Potter movies. The current asking price of $50 may be a little steep, considering these are 5 year old games without additional content. One to watch once it hits a more comfortable price point. Worth a look, but only if you don't already own the games.

A good remaster for the two LEGO Harry Potter games: the games' structure is a little outdated, if compared to the most recent LEGO games, but going back to Hogwarts is always a pleasure.

Tt Games did a wonderful job with bringing the world of Harry Potter to life through the LEGO Harry Potter Collection and remastering the experience onto the PlayStation 4. The games certainly show their age, but they’re still a blast, especially if you’re a Harry Potter fanatic.

If you enjoyed these games the first time and just want more Trophies for your collection, then by all means, jump in a second time. But if you missed LEGO Harry Potter back then, it’s far too rough to come back to now.
