I find it a much better spiritual sequel to L4D and Black 4 Blood which lost the emersion experience with all that card drawing mumbo jumbo. I feel there is a little too much RPG element to the game, makes it a bit more overwhelming in terms of complicating the load outs, characters, etc. Making this game a solid 8.5

Bots can be disabled in private network mode. The campaign is great. Each act is divided into several episodes. Beautiful landscapes and polished maps. Incredibly huge hordes of zombies to kill. Even bigger than those in Days Gone. And this climate. And what's really cool is the lot of randomness in the game. Sometimes you have to approach the episode several times because it is difficult (we play on level 3 of difficulty 5 - at the beginning I recommend playing on level 1, even if you have already played some FPS), but thanks to the randomness, each episode can surprise you every time. Highly recommend! Fantastic game. P.S. By default, private network mode uses an external server. I recommend enabling the local server option (less ping in my case).

I dont rate the music- I turn it off.So I would knock it down to a 7.The rpg aspect is enjoyable - I felt reasonably balanced(i think)though - and that goes with the weapons and shooting.Maps are decent too!There are also dynamics to fights where turrets and other defenses can be placed , as well as drops that boost your xp points, amongst other things...I have also had problems with servers, had some players ruin sessions.Game-engine optimisation issues have also dropped my frame rate at times.

El juego es bueno, cumple decentemente con su objetivo que es pasar el rato, no esperes que este sea el gran juego de zombies, que no lo es,El juego es bueno, cumple decentemente con su objetivo que es pasar el rato, no esperes que este sea el gran juego de zombies, que no lo es, es como una expansion del WWZ, creo que en base es algo mejor que B4B, a nivel de mecanica y progresion en el juego, pero creo que no llegara a ser un juego perfecto de zombies o un juego tan memorable como lo fue L4D 1 o 2 en su momento, como dije antes, para jugarlo con amigos en coop unas cuantas partidas esta perfecto pero termina siendo algo repetitivo y en algunas partes diria que o es un problema de traduccion o el señalamiento de objetivos es muy ambiguo, por ejm cuando dice protege tal cosa, Ok, estas ahi protegiendo y de pronto te sale el cuadro que fallaste , y no te enteraste de donde o que paso, como dije son detalles que arruinan la experiencia pero no matan la jugabilidad, dudo que lo arreglen, asi que sera algo con lo que se conviva.

Granted, core players can upgrade for about half price ($25.99 CAD), if you’ve previously played World War Z before and was wondering if the latest DLC is going to be enough to change your mind from its repetitive design and grind, Aftermath might be an afterthought. Even so, it’s always fun to fight against a swarm, hoping to survive against hundreds of zeke’s.

World War Z’s story was, and remains, a background element whose task is to move the player from episode to episode. Aftermath’s two new episodes are set in interesting environments, and the game’s additions and fixes will be welcome to those returning to World War Z as well as to those just starting out. The first person mechanic has potential but remains incomplete, and the new Vanguard likewise might appeal to those wanting to level a new class. Like the base game, Aftermath sans human players might not be a hard pass, but it isn’t the experience the developers intended. With some friends, or at least competent random homo sapiens, World War Z Aftermath provides a unique take on a familiar enemy and does a great job of translating the terror-inducing swarm of zombies mechanic from film to videogame.

With its deep progression system, vast array of locations and classes, World War Z Aftermath is an excellent play for anyone looking to shoot up some zombies with their friends.

If you were already a fan of the base World War Z then I would have no problem recommending Aftermath to you. Although some aspects of the game could have used a bit more attention, blasting through zeds in the first person was still an enjoyable experience, especially with the addition of friends.

World War Z: Aftermath improves on the base game in a number of ways. Despite the new content only adding a few short hours of gameplay, there are more reasons than ever for players to keep coming back for more.

World War Z Aftermath is a solid expansion to the game. While the new chapters felt disjointed between sections, the new chapter mechanics brought in a challenging element to our zombie slaying fun.

Overall, World War Z: Aftermath is a great team-based shooter, and if players have been waiting for the game to be significantly updated before checking it out, the time is now. Likewise, anyone who played at launch will find that this revamp is well worth a second tour of duty against the undead.

Aftermath is an interesting title for this expansion to World War Z. The very definition of the word is the “aftereffects of some sort of significant unpleasant event, but honestly this expansion is anything but unpleasant. Sure, there are some frame drops, and the FPS mode is gimmickier than anything else but this is an extremely solid update. The addition of the extra class in the Vanguards, the extra story missions as well as the Horde XL update adding more hordes of the undead to take down and what you get is a very pleasant update to an already stellar co-op zombie shooter.

Is Aftermath worth it then? It is if you are a fan World War Z and are looking for more content. The new class is a decent addition and can add a new tactical choice when facing the hordes, while both the episodes of Rome and Kamchatka add a couple more hours of content and more variety for when you're grinding for levels and upgrades. However, the first person mode feels undercooked and the rat swarms just aren't scary compared to the likes of the Bull and the Lurker zombies.

Aftermath evolves World War Z in some major ways that brought a smile to my face. Kamchatka is a stellar new episode and the improved melee options and first-person mode are great quality-of-life improvements, but there are still issues with online play, barely any attempt at storytelling, and bizarre design choices (such as a lack of aiming down sights in first-person mode) that are huge disappointments. Even so, blasting my way through countless zombies still has lasting charm, and Aftermath makes World War Z better than it has ever been.

If you've already enjoyed World War Z, the first-person mode alone is enough to merit another run. And if you're totally new to World War Z, then this all-inclusive new version is blatantly the best way to play the game that came out of nowhere to earn a place among genre greats.

A fantastic add-on that not only brings new campaigns but adds great new mechanics that keep the experience feeling fresh. The first-person viewpoint makes things feel like new, allowing you to immerse yourself in the zombie apocalypse, along with other much-needed quality of life improvements stemming from the melee system to the tighter controls and improved performance with 60 FPS. Overall, World War Z: Aftermath feels like it was made today rather than three years ago.

Extremely frustrating as this new release has broken what was previously a decently stable release. Seriously disappointing.

Minor annoyances aside, WWZ: Aftermath is fun, replayable, and challenging. As an added bonus, current WWZ owners can upgrade for $19.99 instead of paying the full $39.99 and carry over their progression and other save data. Overall, World War Z: Aftermath is a refined and replayable experience that offers a slew of content for half the price of its competitors.
