Tetris Effect: Connected is a beautiful game and a great multiplayer-focused refresh of the initial PlayStation 4 game. The visuals are gorgeous and deserve to be experienced in VR. Depending on the display, HDR or SDR colour ranges might not look right until some tweaking is done outside of the game. However, once it clicks this is one of the best puzzle games and definitely a fantastic way to play Tetris in its modern format solo or with others.

I played the Journey mode, which is the single player offline mode. There are 27 stages which can be played in a progressive manner in beginner, normal or expert difficulty. I started playing in normal difficulty but could not get past the 7th stage so I restarted the game in beginner difficulty and from then on I was able to really develop my skill set and ended up eventually beating all three difficulty modes over a two month period of regular play time. The game is addicting because you feel like you can beat a stage and just keep trying again and again until you eventually do beat it.The soundtrack is excellent and I even listen to it when not playing the game. The visuals and effects are nifty but also a little gimmicky. The game does NOT play in the same exact way as classic Tetris. You can continuously rotate a piece and even move it side to side before it is permanently set in place. While this can be perceived as "cheating," the game still poses a great challenge even with this new mechanic. One frustration is that sometimes the next piece comes too soon and you accidentally cause several pieces to stack up quickly and it can really ruin your progress. At the end of the day, this game is a glorified version of Tetris with a few new gameplay mechanics. But I very much enjoyed it and you get a great sense of accomplishment when completing a stage.

This only demonstrates how terrible is the library management of Nintendo that is absurd to give it a good score just to prove something? Menawhile they can say: We at Nintendo are giving our best efforts for you to have the best games. Absurd as it sounds. What a joke of a company for gaming's sake.
The refined and perfect gameplay of this puzzle game together with the sensations conveyed by its music and visual effects make it a unique and highly recommended experience on Nintendo Switch.
