It's not worth picking up if you already own the previous game, unless you really want to play it on newer consoles, and there are other issues, but it proves fairly fun when playing with online friends. There are new heists, such as "The Big Bank," "The Butcher," and "The Dentist," all of which are loaded with safe cracking, loot stealing, hostage taking, shooting, and vandalizing. There's also a new perk system and skill tree for greater character customization, a new pre-planning feature to prep strategies prior to missions, and nearly 100 weapons and almost 150 customizable masks. The co-op experience is gratifying, as is the progression/XP system and the healthy number of character slots to choose the right team for the job. The game's music soundtrack also is worth noting.That said, there are assorted issues, such as graphical bugs -- awkward character models, "clipping" issues (where players can get half a character's body stuck in a wall or safe), and fallen enemies that seem to float in the air instead of fall to the ground. There also are some single-player A.I. problems, where your computer-controlled teammates disregard the objectives and do whatever they want. But if you can overlook these issues and you're a fan of this genre, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is a decent bank-robbing action game at a decent price; otherwise, this might not be right for you.Another issue to note is the recent spate of violent crimes against law enforcement officials in multiple areas. Make no mistake, you will shoot cops. And to some mentally disturbed individuals, this is a perfect "cop killing simulator" and personally, i feel like games like Grand theft auto, and Payday give the impression that killing cops is o.k. It's an o.k game, but one full of technical glitches, a terrible player base, and an just awful premise.

Though it doesn’t exactly put the added power of the PS4 and Xbox One to full use, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is the best-looking console version of Payday 2 you can get, and the best value on any platform for obtaining its wealth of downloadable content.

It’s mildly disappointing to see the framerate capped, and that bots are still in the same state after all this time, but Payday 2’s deep mechanics and purity of vision still make it one of the best, yet most overlooked multiplayer games you can play today.

Payday 2's novel heist-based gameplay is still worth checking out for those interested in a refreshing cooperative experience. For veteran criminal masterminds, however, the return of easily fixable problems and lack of account migration make it hard to justify the jump from previous versions.

And gets the player psyked.-AMAZING SOLO campaign style leveling and unlocking 100's of guns and accessories.--multiplayer is MATURE, and rewards by following a stealth or agro plan---shooting mechanics are flawless and more realistic then FPS---AWESOME LARGER Heist and large robberies--The Ai for you're 2 teammates is awesome..(they get shot cause everyone gets shot=duh)--I only briefly played on the 360 but can't stop playing it on PS4--they added a lot of elements that enhanced solo play from repetitiveness..Invest a hour or two and I doubt anyone will score this less then a 7..

Really love the music and the suspense of pulling off a stealthy heist. Been playing a few month on pc back when it was released in 2013 and its great to finally be able to play it with almost all new content added over the years. Fix the bug and its a perfect 10!

This was a game with a lot of depth and variety to the scenarios it put you in, and that’s great fun to play cooperatively. Though it still has its flaws, the added content and changes that have been brought together in the Crimewave Edition build upon the original release and mean that there’s plenty of reasons to sink back into a life of crime.

Otherwise when the game gets fixed in 30 years, I will sure have some good times.

Payday 2 is not without issues on consoles. Patient gamers will undoubtedly spend many hours robbing, shooting and killing hostages. The technical side still requires a bit of work, but hopefully developers will manage to eliminate most of the problems with net code.

It’s fun to play the role of the bank robber and assemble a crew of thieves. It's not the greatest game nor the worst, so if you've never experienced any of it, it might be one to try. If you have, then you aren't missing much here, except for maybe a few new cool masks.
