Overwatch really motivates you to be better, to be a good player, to help your teammates - there is a very satisfying rating system, each round showing of the best player, and amazing statistics which are showing what kind of player you are.The only real complaint about this gem is matchmaking system - for real? I can't understand how it can takes so long and then the teams are so unbalanced.Overall, this is nearly a perfect, maybe the best competitive online game ever. I love Overwatch and can recommend it to anynone.

This is one of the worst multiplayer experiences I've ever had. You run up against a wall for 30 minutes with some of the worst balance ever in a game of this type, you will either win or lose based on luck and your reward is XP that is earned almost entirely through time played and all you get from leveling up are loot boxes. There is nothing to come back to this game for. No real customization, no challenges, just the same terrible gameplay loop for eternity on lifeless maps and pathetic modes.

Although the Switch version is a new way to play, it really doesn't add anything new to the game. If you were a fan before, you'll either want to play it again or you won't. But if you're a new player picking Overwatch up for the first time, then you'll very much enjoy the experience on Nintendo.

Overwatch on Switch offers the same, fantastically competitive experience that players have been enjoying on other formats for the past few years. While the necessary drop in frame rate is disappointing, it’s clearly helped to maintain the quality elsewhere, and does nothing to diminish Overwatch’s position as one of the best games of all time.

Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch wants to fill a gap when it comes to one of the most popular contemporary games in a Nintendo console and while fans of the series will certainly appreciate the opportunity, this version feels severely harmed when compared to others. Its framerate drop, already half of that in other versions, downgrades the visual experience and the bugs that happen on the game's graphics make this feel like a subpar version. There's also no crossplatform compatibility, which leaves this version on the Switch rather isolated compared to the others.

I never expected Overwatch to come to Switch, but I'm so happy it did. I never have had as much fun playing OW as I do laying in bed playingI never expected Overwatch to come to Switch, but I'm so happy it did. I never have had as much fun playing OW as I do laying in bed playing with my Fiance on our Switches. It's my platform of choice for OW now. A lot of people are going to give this negative reviews due to recent events. But really, this game has nothing to do with politics, and the game itself is great. I feel they did a great job porting it over to the Switch. Sure it doesn't look quite as good as PC, but at the end of the day, gameplay is what matters and its as great as ever (if not better due to the added gyro feature, which I don't use but I like having the option). It still looks great on the Switch and 30 fps is surprisingly smooth. Plus the game has come a long way and there are so many more maps and characters when the game was first released, and so many more even since I last played it on PC. I love it! Highly recommend, especially to newcomers to the franchise or people who have friends who own switches.

The game's progression system is still unchanged. You level based on time played mostly and the sole reward for leveling up are loot boxes for cosmetics. That's it. Your performance doesn't dictate anything and what you get is set in stone, no room for true individuality. This has always been a problem since the original release as games from over a decade ago had addicting progression systems down like a science.Then there's the balance. While it isn't as bad as some previous times in the game's life (like when Brigitte was released), there's still balance problems that hurt the experience drastically and can lead to immense frustration. Junkrat is still the biggest problem since Brig was nerfed. His damage output is insane, his tire charges way too fast and is way too powerful and he takes absolutely no damage from any of his own explosives, meaning he is just a mindless massive damage output machine with no risks and his fast charging ultimate is at least two free kills. He can even active his tire and explode it right in front of himself to kill multiple people while dealing absolutely no damage to himself. You know who can't do that at all? Pharah, so this is clearly a case of no consistency in design and it makes Junkrat a nightmare. Some other characters have their share of issues, but Junkrat has been needing a real nerf for so long and nothing has happened.So yeah. If you don't care about either of those things, then this port is perfect for you as the visuals are top notch and while it runs at 30fps and it has some dips when the action goes nuts, it still performs far better than I expected especially with the visual fidelity staying intact. I just wish the game felt more fulfilling.

Within the groups, each character has their own unique abilities to ultimately win the match. My personal favourite characters from each category would be, Tracer, Mei, Zarya and Lucio. Each of these characters have very different gameplay; Tracer is agile and quick as she can teleport around the map and go back in time to regain health, while Mei is typically used for stealth as she can freeze enemies and kill them with a headshot afterwards.Not only are their skills diverse but their backgrounds are too, Blizzard really outdid themselves when it came to the characters, animated shorts have been released for certain characters further explaining how they came to be a member of Overwatch.When playing online they are three different game modes; Quick Play, Arcade and Competitive. You can choose which mode best suits you. However, the objective within matches in Quick Play or Competitive is to either push the payload as far through the map as you can or to capture an objective and hold it till the percentage equals 100%. Be warned, if you’re playing the same character on every map, attack and defence, you’re going to get bored eventually which is why the vast selection of heroes is so important. It keeps the game fresh.Competitive is my preferred game mode. Once a new season starts you participate in 10 placement matches and are placed into a tier based on your skill within games. Your skill rating changes depending on how many medals you achieved in game but mainly if you won or lost. At the end of the season, you win a collection of competitive points dependant on what tier you’re in, which can be used to buy golden guns for any character along with other rewards. The idea of a Competitive game mode is really fun, it can help you find how good of an Overwatch player you are, but in all honesty unless you are placed in a high tier there’s not much hope. Many other online players often cause havoc on teams as they aren’t picking the heroes that are potentially needed to win the game.Within the world of Overwatch sound plays a huge part in fully immersing yourself in the gameplay, each hero has their own voice actor based on the country the character originated from. Mei for example is Chinese, therefore so is her voice actor which is an amazing extra. They all have their own voice lines, in English and their native language. While in a game, if an enemy uses their ultimate ability the hero will say so in game using his/her unique voice line to alert every player that this is taking place. The use of sound is super fun and helpful in game.As the developers of this game is Blizzard, they are constantly working on how the game could be improved and listening to what the players themselves have to say. Videos are often published online from the Lead Developer of Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, who explains what they are adding to the game and what that means for us. Characters are constantly being buffed or nerfed depending on players’ remarks of them and how popular each character is. Every 3 months, a new hero is added to the game which always seems to cause a wave of excitement as another animated short will be released to go along with the new addition. The updates are frequent and the majority of bugs are quickly found and corrected.Another huge part of Overwatch is the customisation of the characters as well as the events that are held. Each character has their original outfit along with other skins, maybe in a different colour or even following a specific theme; these can be obtained by opening loot boxes which can be bought with real money or receive one after levelling up, or using the in-game currency. After having a whole year of Overwatch, the following events are likely to take place every year now; Summer Games, Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, Lunar New Year, Uprising and Anniversary. When these events are active extra game modes are added keeping to the theme, now it may just be me but I find these events really fun and do nothing but add to the already wonderful game.Finally, the price of Overwatch constantly varies from £25-£50. Overall Overwatch is a fun game suitable for anyone, particularly those who are already fans of Blizzard. There is such a wide variety within the game and there's guaranteed to be a character that suits the gameplay you're looking for. In my opinion, it is more of a social game, to play with friends is better than by yourself but that doesn't mean you don't have a good time. To put it plain and simple, it's worth every penny.

Blizzard have made a really good game with Overwatch, and succeeded in building a foundation from which they can build another mega-franchise. But it’s not perfect. Despite their inclusion of so many eSport friendly features and an incredible diverse cast of uniquely powered characters, a lack of modes, party options, and a context-creating campaign are sore points in my eyes.

With its fun gameplay and an amazing charisma for standing out, Overwatch is the best candidate for the “best competitive FPS” title this year. Blizzard has done a gorgeous job working on this title, creating a shiny box full of a deep and interesting lore, an outstanding design and tons of fun.

We are hopelessly hooked on this exclusively multiplayer proposal, but we would like Blizzard to provide us with a greater variety of options, especially in the long term.

What’s incredible about Overwatch is how every single aspect of the game presented holds the same remarkably high level of detail and polish, and though the lack of progression systems and small selection of game modes may limit the experience for some in the long term, in the short to medium term, this game is nothing short of amazing.

Blizzard and their team seem to have struck gold with a perfect combination of class based, team-centric first person shooting with their latest entry in their storied career. They show that in an era of overpriced and overwrought online only first person shooters, Overwatch stands out above the fray, to deliver a meaningful, competitive experience sure to last for years to come.

Pretty much everything about this game feels fresh and exciting: the class-based combat, the art style, the roster, the modes. It's equal parts strategic and twitchy, encouraging you to think while also rewarding skill, and its roster is a delight. Overwatch may well be the best new multiplayer shooter to come along since Modern Warfare and Team Fortress 2 took 2007 by storm. I can't wait to play more.

Everything has its counters.While this game has only 12 maps right now, and it is repetitive, it manages to stay fun and interesting for a surprisingly long time. The main reason for this is that the game has immense depth under the casual-friendly appearence, it is one of those easy to learn but very hard to master games. There is always something new to try and learn. And the competitive aspect of the game will keep you coming for more.The main downside of this game, is that if you have no friends to play with, you won't get nearly the same satisfaction with those who do have their own party. This game is heavily based around teamwork and tactics. You can still find success solo, of course, but will be more difficult.Other than that, the game deserves its price. Totally recommended.

The gameplay is simple and replicates tf2 in a lot of ways, but this is not a bad thing. TF2 was successful for a reason, albeit at a different price point, but more on that later. I foresee this game as being a game that people will play for awhile and even more people will join later as the price goes down because it is so approachable with likeable characters, strong gameplay, and good replayability. 2) There is a good community for this game...so far. Since this is a Blizzard game, I have no doubt this game will continue to have a growing fan base on twitch and youtube. It is almost impossible to avoid seeing let's plays of this game on youtube and so many people are already streaming the game. 3) Blizzard has told us that all new characters and maps will be free in the future. This is where the price of admission comes in and where Overwatch will have the opportunity to prove its worth. This is so rare in games today that are asking half the price of the game, or more, for an additional season pass. Cough... cough.... Battlefront. Given Battlefront has released some free DLC, there is still a $50 season pass to enjoy the majority of the game's additional content. Now, whether or not Blizzard will deliver on this front in a good way, is yet to be seen, but I have good faith that they will deliver on this front.

In all seriousness, it does something that no other shooter on console has done successfully - created a fun, truly team based, engaging, competitive game that has a high skill ceiling with a low barrier to entry and lovable characters. On the surface it is simple, but play it for a while and you'll understand why Overwatch exceeds the hype.

It might not have the most exhaustive list of maps and modes, but it provides nearly endless opportunities for exhilarating, coordinated play. When you’re at the center of it, it feels like nothing else.
