Riassunto
Moo Lander è un platform 2,5D con molti puzzle ambientali e gestione delle risorse. Prendi il controllo del Lander - l'ultimo eroe della sua civiltà morente. La tua missione è quella di individuare e ottenere abbastanza latte - la risorsa più importante dell'universo. Il latte stesso si trova solo sull'antico pianeta delle potenti mucche aliene. Combattendo con queste bestie otterrai il prezioso latte, una risorsa molto necessaria per la tua missione. Si progredisce attraverso i livelli di gioco passando attraverso molte creature ostili - sia flora che fauna, e alla fine di ogni livello c'è una battaglia con una mucca unica. Dopo ogni livello devi scegliere cosa fare con il latte raccolto: aggiornare la tua nave, sbloccare la tecnologia, costruire la tua base o rimandare il latte al tuo mondo natale. Il tuo obiettivo finale è inviarne abbastanza per salvare il tuo popolo.
Trama
La storia del nostro Moo Lander inizia con due antiche nazioni aliene: i Lander e gli Annunaki. Entrambi vivevano insieme in pace e armonia. Il nucleo della loro cultura e della loro tecnologia era il latte - in realtà hanno trovato il modo di sfruttare un'energia infinita e assolutamente pulita da questa sostanza miracolosa. Le mucche che davano il latte erano il loro bene più importante.
Sfortunatamente, arrivò un momento in cui gli Annunaki divennero avidi e vollero tutto il latte per loro. Questo naturalmente portò ad un conflitto civile tra i Lander e gli Annunaki - fu una guerra sanguinosa e terribile che portò alla morte di tutte le mucche. La così preziosa risorsa del latte si esaurì come risultato della guerra, e non c'erano più mucche per produrlo. Così i Lander erano sull'orlo dell'estinzione totale senza alcuna speranza di salvare la loro grande civiltà.
Tuttavia, i saggi saggi e potenti dei Lander ricordarono un'antica profezia che parlava di un potente dispositivo che si diceva fosse in grado di generare quantità infinite di latte.
Così i Lander mandarono il loro guerriero più potente in missione per recuperare questo dispositivo. Ne furono trovate tracce su Marte, quindi questa fu la prima destinazione di Spiro. Il tempo passava e l'eroe dei Lander non tornò mai, né inviò alcun tipo di comunicazione al popolo. Fu presa una decisione: la civiltà poteva a malapena raccogliere le sue ultime risorse per costruire una sola nave interstellare con un solo Lander come pilota. Tu sei quest'ultimo pilota, e la tua nave è l'ultima speranza rimasta alla tua civiltà.

In the end, Moo Lander is a solid adventure game that works despite the genre being mislabeled. The placement of more physics puzzles is a welcome one, even if a few can be a little frustrating. Combat is solid enough, provided you know beforehand that the boss fights tend to be a huge pain. The world may not have much in the way of exploration, but it feels anything but sterile, and the tools are quite fun to use. It's an enjoyable game overall and one that adventure fans might be interested in if they wanted something a little different.

Moo Lander is a fun game that can be played in short stints. It has a whacky and creative story that supports a side-scrolling shooter/puzzle/RPG backbone. It does more right than not and makes for an engaging and entertaining journey to hunt down alien cows.
If you love Metroidvania games, Moolander is very similar to those such as Ori and is packed with quality content. The gameplay at times feels as if this was intended to be a mobile game, well that’s because that is how Moo Lander started out in 2013. This game has been in development for years and the love from the developers shows in their product they’ve made together. Moo Lander was inspired heavily by Ori and plays much like it with a simpler design from a significantly smaller group. The story is engrossing and cooky enough to entertain those looking for a simple singleplayer story. There are multiplayer elements with Moo Lander such as couch coop game modes and PvE & PvP, but the story is the key part for this indie developed game.
Even with the few issues I encountered, Moo Lander is wacky and nonsensical and just about the most ridiculous and best thing I’ve played this year. I couldn’t stop playing it or talking about it. It was a refreshing reminder that not all games have to have a deep story or even take themselves seriously. Sometimes ridiculous and fun is all you need. Moo Lander was, indeed, an aMOOsing adventure through space and I enjoyed my time with it very much.
