I played with multiple weapons, but specialized with the long sword for the majority of the game. I grinded out the platinum for this one, which to be honest was kind of terrible. It’s easier with events now, but still getting some of those crowns can be very time consuming and repetitive. It’s a pretty great experience and taking on new monsters has a learning curve. I think this game is enjoyed more with friends, but I do know some people that are still going at it solo and love it.

Missions are boring. The only good thing about this game are pretty good looking monsters.

Let me just start off by saying that this game did not appeal to me at first. The only reason i picked it up was because of word-of-mouth. I kept hearing that the game is enjoyable, fun, EPIC and lengthy. i saw the game on sale so i decided to give it a go and i am soooooo glad i did. The visuals, the color and and the game-play are just amazing. Hunting down these monsters and the thrill of it all made this game outstanding.

This is my first Monster Hunter game. I've came from a few similar RPGs, mostly also played on PS4: Horizon Zero Dawn, Dark Souls, FinalThis is my first Monster Hunter game. It's a huge RPG full of details, plenty of missions. I started playing with a Katana, and even gave up on the game after meeting the Anjanatah. After a few months, watching other players playing with a light bow gun, I remembered how fun it was playing in distance with HZD. I tried with light bowgun and it worked for me pretty well (of course after some reading and tips on this gun). After 45h I finished the game and the elder dragons. The Elder Dragons were by far the best bosses/monsters in the game, incredible monster design and amazing fight and blasts! The multiplayer also gets interesting when fighting huge monsters like them. I give it an 8.8/10 and I'll certainly play the Iceborne expansion.

Monster Hunter: World still has all the complexity expected from this series, but it dishes it out in much more palatable chunks than usual. It's still got a frightening amount of depth, but it feels manageable in a way that few in the series have pulled off before. Players may still feel a little lost from time to time, but a little guidance from series vets or other friends can drastically reduce the growing pains new players will likely experience. On top of all that, this is one of the best-feeling titles the series has had to date; so saddle up with some friends, and explore all the New World has to offer.

Arriving eight months late on PC, everything that can be said about Monster Hunter World already has done. Rest assured though, the wait was indeed worth it. Anyone looking for a deep action game they can potentially invest hundreds of hours into need look no further. This is Monster Hunter, back and better than it's ever been before.

It's not the worst console port I have seen, but it surely isn't the best one. The only real flaw of the PC version of Monster Hunter World is the buggy multiplayer mode. Everything else works just fine and deserves some attention - after all, this is one of the most captivating adventures in the virtual world ever.

An amazing confluence of level and monster design, combat and gameplay systems, Monster Hunter: World is undoubtedly best Monster Hunter game. After spending well over a hundred hours outside the campaign, I think my original review score was actually a little low. As a game, Monster Hunter: World is still incredible, but the PC release can only be considered definitive for a relatively small number of power users with top-shelf GPUs and zippy processors. While everyone with a recent PC and decent graphics card can make the game work, for many players the best experience may still be on console.

One thing i'd like to address asap that I noticed about low score reviews on here, is that they really, REALLY dislike the animations of your characters during fighting, and think of it as clunky. well, fun fact, that's because its SUPPOSED to be. unlike your typical multi-weapon based game, weapons in MH:W aren't made of paper and plastic and you can't just fling a sword thrice as big as you like it doesn't weigh anything. battles are HECTIC, with environmental traps and places to use a grappling hook for quick mobility, and at all times during a battle you'll be thinking on your feet. However, this game isn't a hack-and-slash where you can just button mash and expect things to die, you have to plan your strikes(and positioning if you're using a ranged weapon) before you make them or you'll be punished for attacking in the wrong way at the wrong time. Bows for example let you run around pretty well and let you stay agile, while a lance-and-shield will make you extremely sluggish but will allow you to take extremely minimal damage while blocking, and I LOVE this system, to many games I have played where you can just button mash and things die without even being in the Hack-And-Slash genre, its refreshing to play this.The maps look beautiful and vibrant, and of course, so do the monsters! speaking of the monsters, I found the adaptive AI really awesome, especially during a few instances so far of 1 monster attacking another monster I'm currently fighting, which is something that is completely unscripted.Now, I do have some gripes with the game, Which is why im not giving it a 10, which, I agree with low score reviews, the game is pretty poorly optimized. I have a 1070Ti (overclocked as high as I could take it safely I might add) with a Ryzen 2700x OC'd CPU, and this game still can not reliably hit 60 fps without me turning some settings down a little unless I'm in a very open area without a lot of density, or i'm in non-busy floors of the main hub area. during gameplay I'm looking at around 50-65 fps with lows as bad as 40, but, highs reaching the high 70's. Hopefully some patches get released that will get this game "unchugged".I also don't enjoy the lack of depth to character creation, but I understand that certain aspects (such as size and body type) could cause some issues of game balance if they were to have immersive gameplay effects such as someone overweight moving slower than a fit body type, or a short character being much harder for the monsters to hit if their hitbox was also reduced to fit their height.all in all, the game so far is very enjoyable for me, and as someone that's always been on the low end hardware side of life for the last 20 or so years, and only just now finally getting a beefy PC, turning down a few settings to get the game at a stable 60 frames isn't the end of the world for me. on a completely unrelated note, I did notice some people saying the Co-op is unstable. I've done a LOT of hunts so far, and with those, I did the majority single-player, I will admit to that. However every single multiplayer session i've done has had no issues whatsoever, but, I'm, speaking for myself, I'd say try the game out, try to rush through the tutorial as fast as you can with the default character model(you can have up to 3 character profiles at once and can just delete the profile after) so you can do the multiplayer as soon as possible to see if it gives you issues. if you enjoy the game when doing your first quest tutorial, and there are no problems with multiplayer, delete that profile or just begin a new game and take your time with that profile, and have fun :)

Want a smooth co-op campaign experience with friends? Forget about it. You need to all individually watch the cut scenes for every mission before you're allowed to co-op the story.I really want to love this game but Capcom are making it so hard. Not worth the full price tag, wait until its on sale. Hopefully they'll have fixed the never ending list of issues by then.

Capcom perfected the combat formula over countless releases, but it wasn’t until Monster Hunter: World that they stripped away what ultimately was never much fun to begin with. You spend less time spent preparing, and more time actually fighting. And sales figures suggest, as we all expected, that Capcom really had something special sitting under all that bloat.

I won't rehash the problems I had with World simply because they make me profoundly sad. I wanted to like the game, I hoped the new direction would bring the series to a new level, but instead, the whole thing blew up in my face like a Marshmallow Peep left in the microwave too long.

Moving to real consoles has paid off for Monster Hunter. The fifth installment is bigger, nicer and funnier (a bit). In addition, a number of free addons will extend the entertainment for another dozens of hours.

I can't recommend Monster Hunter: World enough to anyone who's after possible GOTY games. It's not just the best Monster Hunter game to date, I'm pretty sure it's one of the best titles of the year, and that's a big achievement for CAPCOM and this particular franchise mostly known in Japan.

Monster Hunter: World captures that feel of hunting, and despite its technical quirks and poor design decisions, if you've got a group of friends to play with it comes highly recommended. If you're running solo, you might be better waiting for a sale.

The detail i'm talking about is the lack of jump button.The RPG side of this game is fabulous, the scenery lush and on the X at least stunning to look at. I spent a good few hours just walking around and visiting the canteen because it looks so damn good. Another plus is on the X you can choose your graphical preference between frame-rate, resolution and detail.When you finally get hunting the actual process is excellent. You find tracks, you wipe mucus from walls which gets you points towards a research bar. Once the bar has filled enough then the luminous tracker flies start to do their thing and lead you to the prey. Along the way though you might come across other monsters wandering around and it's up to you whether you take them on or not. So far, so good.But once you find the monster this is where things go bad. For all the tactics and brilliance of the RPG side the combat boils down to button-bashing. I also come back to my opening statement of the lack of a jump button; one of the main ways to attack a monster is to get on it's back and start stabbing away but the problem here is there is no way to actually jump. To be able to get on a back you have to manoeuvre the monster near a ledge and then "hope" you jump off the ledge toward the monster, it's more luck than judgement if this happens. Add in the lack of a health bar on the animals and you're at times literally stabbing in the dark.To sum up: a great game spoiled by the combat system.

The veteran players of the Monster Hunter saga will find the biggest and most spectacular entry to date. The new ones will enjoy a great game about hunting enormous beasts with an interesting coop mode and a well-balanced progress and combat system.

Camera still disgusts in some times.Although those major changes (and those minor changes that i don't mention), there are huge improvements in this title which makes me feel more like a lover than a fan.I've already played like 55-60 hours yet (starting on 26th January), and this is what I can say:Graphic improvements are simply awesome, now enviroments feel more live than ever. It's great to see that the franchise makes a triumphant debut on Microsoft's machine because many gamers expressed concerns about optimization and other issues before launch. If you like challenging experiences along the lines of Dark Souls, be sure to give Monster Hunter: World a go. The game will keep you engaged for dozens of hours because it takes patience more than anything to become a legendary hunter.

Monster Hunter finally arrives on the new generation consoles. Its soul is intact: it is always divided in two main sectors, the preparation and the hunt, and it’s fun as ever. The hunts are long and secondary quests or activities, like collecting the pieces to craft armors and weapons, could take months. The monsters are now moved by the most complex and smooth animations we've ever seen in a videogame, but maps are not so big and interactive. Monster Hunter: World is a big step up for the series, not for the current videogames scenario.

This is the most audacious Monster Hunter game yet. Monster Hunter: World manages the balance between staying true to the series’ ideals and the addictive loop of combat with intimidating monsters and meaningful upgrades that fans love, while also taking a dramatic leap into a look, feel, and size that feels truly new. Its sheer depth and the commitment required is still intense, but it clearly isn’t Capcom's aim to court a casual crowd. It’s as all-consuming and incredible a ride as ever.
