Left 4 Dead 2 CD Key è un gioco cooperativo sparatutto in prima persona ed è il sequel di "Left 4 Dead". È stato pubblicato il 17 novembre 2009 negli Stati Uniti per Xbox 360 e MS Windows e in Europa il 20 novembre 2009. Per Mac OS X è stato reso disponibile il 5 settembre 2010 e per Linux il 2 luglio 2013 tramite Steam. Il gioco è stato rilasciato da Valve come download gratuito per tutti gli utenti di Steam il 25 dicembre 2013 per un periodo di 24 ore.
Lo sfondo del gioco è ambientato dopo la pandemia apocalittica, e il gameplay si concentra su quattro nuovi sopravvissuti, che cercano di combattere contro le orde infette che presentano caratteristiche simili a quelle degli zombie. Il gioco prevede cinque campagne, che i giocatori devono completare con l'obiettivo di fuggire verso case sicure, che fungono da checkpoint. Si dice che AI Director 2.0 consenta di monitorare le prestazioni dei giocatori e di regolare lo scenario per fornire una sfida dinamica, modificando così il gioco in modo procedurale. Le altre nuove caratteristiche del gioco includono tipi speciali di infetti e armi da mischia di diverso tipo. Il gioco è stato presentato in anteprima mondiale all'E3 2009.

While this game seems to be more of a glorified D.L.C., it earns its spot as one the of the greatest sequels of all time. The graphics are very good for the dated Source Engine. The weapons have a good feel, and the realistic damage to the infected will make feel squeamish quite a lot. A very fun game from beginning to end. (Extra merits for easy modding as well.)

All I can say, is that this game is a **** awesome sequel to Left 4 Dead, ticked all my boxes, nothing negative comes to mind. Awesome! It's better than the first game, then. The biggest achievement, however, is that Valve - who are known to take their time - have managed to put such an enormous wealth of content out in a single year. Left 4 Dead 2 doesn't just add a few new levels and features, it fiddles and increments a formula that few thought needed changing in the first place. The team have managed to infuse their sequel with the exact same kind of nuanced creative energies that usually takes them years, and in doing so they've made last year's accomplished Left 4 Dead look like a simple mod in comparison.
