The amount of decor you can to your park is incredible.The biggest downside is that all the sandbox mode content is not unlocked when you first start the game. You'll have to play the game's scenarios and challenges to unlock the sandbox content. Most players would rather be able to use sandbox straight away and make a wonderful park.

This game was definitely an evolution over its predecessor. Its graphics increased ten fold, and with the contracts removed it deserves this 9

But after completing the Chaos Theory and Challenge modes and buying the DLC, the game crashes constantly and randomly! It has been going on for couple of months now and many many players constantly complain about it on multiple platforms but the developers have done nothing! With a great sadness i am giving this rating simply because the game is absolutely unplayable now!

Sandbox players are exploiting these systems to unlock things in sandbox mode, which for some reason requires unlocks from different parts of the game. The exploit? Spamming a specific building in challenge mode, WITHOUT CREATING A SINGLE DINOSAUR, and getting a 5-star park in under an hour to unlock everything. That's how bad the management systems are and how poorly thought out the game is. It gets a 0 because it's literally worse than it's predecessor.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 isn't exactly a bad game but it's not one that I would call fun. Sure, it's a compelling experience and the joy of being able to play with dinosaurs is unique but the bugs are a massive hindrance that make it far more frustrating than it should be.

While I can’t recommend Jurassic World Evolution 2 based on it being a park management sim, its real draw are the dinosaurs which are undeniably intriguing and captivating. The large variety of them kept me looking for more species to unlock through expeditions and gene splicing. The Chaos Mode was enjoyable as a fan of the Jurassic Park movies with ‘What If’ type scenarios, but Sandbox mode left me wanting more from the game. I would say this was more geared to fans of the Jurassic Park movies as opposed to fans of park management sims, and there are much better ones out there. For fans of the movies and dinosaurs, you’d be hard pressed to find a game more in line with the franchise.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 follows on brilliantly from the original game to provide hours of utter joy. The console fit is a great one, with interfaces and opportunities always at the fingertips. Throw in a multitude of options via various game modes and you’ve got what many could well call the ultimate dinosaur-themed park builder.

If the first chapter of the series represented a novelty and a small gem in the managerial games universe, this sequel expands and enriches the experience but it loses the opportunity to deepen the management component. It is an evolution of the first chapter, with new content and modes, but without adding substantial new features to the game formula.

This new game by Frontier Developments is a great gift to all the fans of Jurassic Park. The core of Jurassic World Evolution 2 remains the same, but now with expanded depth.

The dinosaurs act and feel like animals, the visuals are stunning, especially on the PS5, running at a smooth 60fps, and the new Chaos Theory mode provide a good challenge, while also having nostalgia of watching all the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies. I will say that the man campaign is very short, but Chaos Theory, Challenge Mode and Sandbox makes it up. I do hope to see that they make DLC for the upcoming Jurassic World Dominion, as that would be amazing to see new dinosaurs, new maps and potentially new skins for already existing dinosaurs. As Ian Malcolm would say, Life finds a way.

While I can't quite endorse Jurassic World Evolution 2 as a robust park management sim, the area where it puts its main focus – the dinosaurs! – is engaging. Being able to hop into a tour looping around the raptor enclosure or taking direct control of a ranger team rushing to stop a catastrophic escape attempt during a raging storm creates a lot of the exact, awesome moments I want out of a modern Jurassic Park game. Especially compared to its frustratingly shallow predecessor, Jurassic World Evolution 2, uh, found a way.

The evolution is noticeable - Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a better game than its predecessor. The gameplay is more complex, the graphics are nicer, there are new game modes, and some of the changes show that the developer has really listened to the community. There are still ways to go, but the direction is good.

Jurassic World: Evolution 2 makes enough changes to the gameplay of its predecessor that it eclipses wholly feeling like just an expansion pack, but with the cosmetic additions, new locations, and customization options for buildings making up the bulk of visible changes it can seem like that's what developer Frontier was after. Though the game has frustrating moments, it's inherently captivating from the start. Those eager to jump back into the world of the franchise with a game that offers more than the original will have fun with its new additions, but the oft-laborious tasks that come with actually running a dinosaur park and managing a team might make this feel less like a game and more like a second job to others. Considering the larger subtext of the book and film that spawned this entire thing though, can we really be mad when the game punishes us for attempting to squeeze wealth out of nature?

Nearly finished the JP one.Graphics even though good, I thought they would at least have some ray tracing in game especially the water reflections. Pretty disappointing for a next gen console. Dinos have new animations that are really cool, like the Carnotaurus resting on it's tail like a kangaroo.Planning your dino enclosures is more thorough implementing food types for Herbivores which they got from Claire's Sanctuary DLC from JW:E. There's no longer a plant dispenser so the Herbivores can just eat the foliage that you plant in their enclosures.Ranger's roles are now just patrolling and repair. There's a mobile vet team that handles dino injuries and sickness. They also have a station where you can send the seriously injured dinos in for emergency surgery with a magic spray machine : DMechanics have been expanded where it can get very tedious. The most annoying part is the scientists and Hatchery having a 2 step method to freaking hatch the eggs.Couple of good additions is good and bad dino perks in the DNA sequencing. So you'll roughly 6 eggs and 3 out of the 6 eggs could have negative traits like aggression and anti social behaviours. So you might have to discard the eggs or if your not financially sound just go with it and risk a disaster happening at your park.Improvement to the shops, food and drinks where you can provide to different types of crowds. All the shops looks can be customised and renamed to really make it unique from each other.Overall, I find the game alright. I really preferred the island hopping in the first one where you can go back and fix. With JW:E 2 although improved, it made the small things too tedious.7/10

The campaign is a fun way to introduce new players to the game &. Chaos theory is a blast to play. Getting to see each what if scenario is a real treat. Overall the game is a perfect sequel.

What works in this game’s favor is the expanded roster of dinosaurs, the new challenges and the fantastic animations and behaviors of the exhibits. Being a licensed game, the temptation towards being simple had to have been strong. Some would argue the first game swung to hard in the accessible direction. With this newest iteration, the game walks the line of easy to understand but deep enough to remain engaging. Despite frustrations, Frontier Developments, much like life, found a way.

JWE2 tries so hard to appeal to people’s nostalgia for the movies that it’s like they forgot they were making a park-builder game. By centering it around the events after Fallen Kingdom, the devs backed themselves into a corner without many options — and apparently the inability to come up with a story of their own. They’re clearly planning on releasing a DLC when Dominion comes out. Perhaps that’s why this game feels incomplete? It’s going to leave many fans of the original game like myself feeling really disappointed. JWE2 is more of the same jumping through an endless series of hoops trying to put out fires, except now you have to tell your scientists when it’s time to go to bed (I’m not kidding) — otherwise they’ll work themselves to the point of insanity and end up sabotaging your park. Who doesn’t get a little homicidal after a long work day? Totally normal. I’d hoped this game would take a much deeper dive into new features for decorating & customizing your park and its exhibits. Instead, they’ve completely removed the option to plant individual decorations like trees & rocks in your exhibits — which was arguably one of the best additions to the original game. And here I was hoping we’d be able to include waterfalls & rivers in the enclosures. HA! Instead, you’re given you the option to customize the appearance of gift shops & restaurants with the exciting new feature of adding tables! Doesn’t that sound fun??It’s like Frontier ignored all of the ways they could have made the park-building experience better and instead focused all of their attention on ways to make it a more stress-filled, tedious experience. Because that’s why people love Jurassic Park, right? The campaign is effectively a 3-hour tutorial that feels like it’s about to get interesting, only to tell you that you’re done. What was the point of even calling it a campaign? Chaos Theory is a nice addition to the original formula, but that’s the problem. Chaos Theory pretty much serves as the meat of the game outside of Challenge Mode — which is just as annoying as it was in the first game. The “sandbox” forces you to jump through the same repetitive hoops in the other game modes before you can unlock everything and enjoy it. Except now you have to consult a scientist for every little decision. And if the scientist is incompetent (and they are) and doesn’t know how to build an aquarium, we’ll that’s too bad! What was the point of even having a sandbox mode of you’re going to lock it behind the same dull tedium as the rest of the game? It’s like player enjoyment wasn’t even a consideration for the developers. Jurassic World Evolution 2 is not a sequel worth $60. I’d go so far as to call it an unfinished DLC worth half of that price. If you’re dying to get it, do yourself a favor and wait until it’s on sale.

So lets dive into game play and game mode talk.The main campaign is seriously like 2-3 hours in length. All it really is, is a tutorial. Nothing more, nothing less. You unlock nothing by doing it aside from some achievements. The real game is I guess chaos theory?? which just puts you in certain points in the movies and you decide the outcome. This is the game mode where you unlock stuff for sandbox mode.Lets discuss game play now. The changes made are horrendous in nature. Here is just a couple things that are new:You need to send a ranger team to check the status of your dinosaurs every few minutes.You need incredibly large enclosures this time. (example) For Stegosaurus to be happy you basically need an enclosure that takes up half the map.The micromanagement is off the chart ridiculous. You need to buy fuel and food and energy every few minutes for your vehicles and dinos. In order to do anything you need scientists, lets say a dinosaur is injured which happens with every storm, storms happen every few minutes. First you will see a injury icon above your dino. Then you need to status check them with your ranger team, then check them with your medical team. Then dart them to sleep, then transport them to the medical bay, then transport them back to enclosure when healed. This happens every damn storm, its so tedious I stopped playing. Lets say you find some fossils to sell, well you need to get your scientists to sell the fossils which in turn costs money. So in order to make money you need to spend it? Makes sense right... or does it.The micromanagement is just so bad... so so bad.I don't even want to talk about it anymore this game disgusts me so much. I hope what I did say is enough to help you make an informed decision and save your money. Look at my review for the first game, a game i gave a perfect score.

Taking the time to name your dinosaurs and seeing them interact in their immersive enclosures creates a certain unmistakable bond that will have you yelling through your screen at your scaley children to get along. Losing your first dinosaur to a trial by combat is equally as emotional after you’ve invested so much time into their health and well-being. However, every new dinosaur you create is a chance to take a small mental break from park management. They each have different behaviors, sounds, and habits to observe, so take that time to zip around the enclosures and watch your dilos “Pinky” and “Brain” take a nap in the tall grass: they’re kind of cute when they’re asleep.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 offers much the same dinosaur park-building experience as its predecessor, but the inclusion of the new avian and marine dinosaurs adds depth and creates new opportunities for players to expand their dream park. Chaos Theory is a similarly brilliant concept that puts players in control to change the outcomes of their favorite Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films. Unfortunately, even with these notable additions, gameplay can begin to feel repetitive and shallow in both the lackluster Campaign and the multiple Challenge modes, and the locked options preventing players from exercising their creativity in Sandbox mode from the start may turn off fans of Frontier's other park-builder sims like Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo. As it is now, it's difficult to recommend Jurassic World Evolution 2 because, despite some great new ideas, the execution feels potentially alienating for its target audience.

Jurassic Park Evolution 2 delivers improvements across the board. It takes the best parts of the original game, adds new ways to play, and changes up mechanics to make them feel more realistic and interesting - making everything more engaging and immersive. Building straight paths and fences is easier, keeping dinosaurs fed is a breeze, and even speeding up time is now possible, yet managing those raptors is still a welcome challenge. While I may not actually be the best dinosaur supervisor yet, I can’t see myself putting this game down for a long time.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 makes as many giant steps forward as it does back but has enough going for it to deliver a fun and rewarding theme-park experience.
