Helheim Hassle is an original and unique work that's filled with humourand some smart puzzling action. It's always good to see someone takingthe risk of creating something new that doesn't try to copy what's beingmade elsewhere and for that, Perfectly Paranormal deserves praise fordelivering this fun, unconventional and original experience to theNintendo Switch catalogue.

This is a fun and weird (in a good way) mix of platforming and puzzle, and the result is surprisingly good. A great choice if you want something different.

The humour in Helheim Hassle is spot-on for a laugh-out-loud adventure and it provides many impressively rewarding puzzles as well.

Helheim Hassle is another solid entry in to the gaming world from Perfectly Paranormal. It’s funny, has clever puzzle mechanics and designs, and there’s much more to do here than initial impressions might appear. Switching between the body parts is too fiddly to do with speed, so some sections suffer as a result and can be mightily frustrating, but other than that there’s a lot of fun to be had here.

Despite a few rare difficult moments with finicky controls and timed puzzles, Helheim Hassle is well worth a look. The humor is lively, surprising, and wickedly funny, while never feeling mean. The majority of the puzzles are engaging and fun. Helheim Hassle is a good-natured good time.

Helheim Hassle's particular sense of humour and occasionally fiddly controls might make you bristle from time to time, but you'll keep plugging away thanks to its inspired mechanics and varied challenges.

Look I've seen games using gore effects but this is way beyond what I anticipated. How can you possibly combine fun and gore together plus a lot of puking? A Lot! Your afterlife body is split into six parts: two legs, two arms, a head, and a torso. After progressing through the tutorial and a few opening puzzles, you will be able to detach and combine almost any of these parts to help you overcome a variety of imaginative obstacles. I would like to say I've never found myself playing a puzzle game that makes me detach my body parts to solve it trust me after a few hour of game play you'll become more creative about your body. You can also gather different kinds of berries from bushes located throughout the world, which you can then use to make smoothies that permanently boost your abilities (and some may even help you see things you might otherwise miss, though these misses are also completely optional in game. Helheim Hassle is one of those games that is just a touch hard to recommend to people who are more used to a traditional puzzle game, because it does have those segments that expect you to display more technical skill, but I’m going to recommend checking it out anyway as this is another solid release on the Xbox One library.

Helheim Hassle is a genuinely funny game with a dark sense of humour that holds up throughout a series of creative and silly puzzles.

While Helheim Hassle doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessor, Manual Samuel, this platformer offers up plenty of clever puzzles, bad jokes and hilarious characters. The core mechanic of disassembling and reassembling the main character to get through Helheim's neverending supply of platforming puzzles is good fun, though the clunky controls often cause problems during the game's more stressful segments.

Managing six different detachable body parts takes some getting used to, but Helheim Hassle is a consistently fun, creative blend of narrative adventure and puzzle-platformer with an amusing spin on Norse mythology.

Whilst there are some issues with platforming, some annoying jokes and inconsistent level design, Helheim Hassle on Xbox One is a great example of how far Perfectly Paranormal have come as a team. It could realistically be seen as extra content with the formula Samuel set beforehand, but instead it adapts from it and grows. Helheim is just as wacky and strange as Manuel Samuel yet offers so much more to keep you playing.

Pulling off your head and lobbing it deep into a dark and dingy crevasse has never been so much fun. With over 90 puzzles, an array of crazy characters, witty dialogue and unique mechanics, a trip to Helheim is definitely worth the trek. Its quirky and intriguing spin on the Norse world is fascinating and due to this, it can proudly raise its glass of grog up high and bellow “Skol” at the top of its lungs.

If players are in the market for some tough puzzles, interesting storytelling, or a good laugh, Helheim Hassle may be the game they've been looking for.

There’s a hell of a lot to love about Helheim Hassle. Its world, animation, characters and storytelling are all excellent; in terms of art and sound design there’s a level of polish rarely seen outside of AAA releases. But there’s also a lot that lets it down. Had it been a little tighter and had the most frustrating puzzles been worked on just a bit more, Helheim Hassle could have been one of the best indie games of the year. As it is, a convoluted control system and some badly-designed timed puzzles are going to most likely make you rage. You’ll get a kick out of many aspects of Bjørn and Pesto’s journey, but there’ll be times you’ll just want to throw Bjørn’s limbs into the fieriest pits of Hel yourself.

Solving puzzles while a disgruntled goblin is getting irate that you’re cheating because you’re taking off body parts, can be fun. Helheim Hassle certainly made me laugh quite a few times. But a repetitive gameplay loop, a tiresome numbers of puzzles, some frustrating controls, and a world that I felt no compulsion to explore or continue in, left me wanting a lot more than just a few lols.
