"Sviluppato da OneorEight e precedentemente pubblicato in Giappone con il nome di Earth Wars, "Earth's Dawn" fonde frenetiche meccaniche d'azione a scorrimento laterale con elementi RPG e un'estetica manga dura e tagliente per offrire un'esperienza di gioco profonda e unica.
Fin dall'inizio Earth's Dawn dà ai giocatori la libertà di godersi il gioco a modo loro - dalla creazione del proprio personaggio; la personalizzazione degli alberi delle abilità per aumentare le abilità più adatte allo stile di gioco; la creazione di armi ed equipaggiamenti; insieme a un sistema di missioni unico basato sulla narrazione".
Trama
"Dopo decenni di pace, la Terra è stata decimata dall'invasione di una razza aliena nota agli umani come E.B.E. Le E.B.E. si sono spostate sul pianeta come una piaga di locuste, consumando qualsiasi cosa sul loro cammino e spazzando via la maggior parte dell'umanità. Tutti i tentativi di combattere furono inutili, poiché le E.B.E. sembravano essere resistenti ad ogni tipo di arma che l'umanità potesse offrire.
All'ultimo momento fu fatta una svolta: usando armi costruite con la tecnologia della E.B.E., fu scoperta una debolezza che poteva essere sfruttata. Gli impianti bionici furono rapidamente sviluppati e impiantati nelle forze superiori rimaste in vita, creando super soldati in grado di portare la lotta alla E.B.E. Un piano fu elaborato e l'obiettivo era chiaro: riconquistare la Terra a tutti i costi e portare la E.B.E. sull'orlo dell'estinzione come avevano fatto una volta".

Absolutely one of the best games of it's type, and probably the only game of it's type on the xb1 platform. Tashikani, it is reminiscent of muramasa rebirth and odin's sphere and Dragon's Crown, but c'mon...that's probably the highest compliment that can be given to a 2-D devil may cry.Beyond that, the art design is gorgeous. It's just beautiful to look at. I love the segmented 2D look of this and Odin's and i hope we see more of it.
Despite the good aestethic, Earth's Dawn is a repetitive old-school beat 'em up. But if you can come to terms with its faults, it can be catchy with its deep and solid mecanics.
The combat, skills, and crafting system are all so well done that I never felt like I was just grinding and wasting my time. Every fight was enjoyable regardless of how often I had seen a specific enemy or even if it was my third time doing a mission.
Even with its flaws, I think many people will enjoy Earth's Dawn, but I don't expect it to be a hit or even a cult classic. If anything those starved for something similar to Odin's Sphere or an RPG-style beat 'em-up might get some enjoyment out of it, while most will find the repetition a bit too much.
Earth’s Dawn has many good ideas going for it, but unfortunately doesn’t execute them in a way that brings excellence to the action RPG genre. It’s a good game but doesn’t reach any level of greatness; it is entertaining but not enthralling.
