Riassunto
Dramatical Murder è ambientato in un futuro prossimo sull'isola fittizia di Midorijima (碧島), in Giappone. A un certo punto della storia recente del gioco, l'isola è stata privatizzata dal potente Toue Konzern (東江コンツェルン, Tōe Kontserun) e trasformata in un resort chiamato Platinum Jail (プラチナ・ジェイル, Purachina Jeiru), mentre gli abitanti originari dell'isola sono stati costretti a vivere nel Vecchio Distretto Residenziale (旧住民区, Kyū-Jūmin-ku). Il protagonista Aoba Seragaki vive sull'isola e lavora in un negozio chiamato Junk Shop Mediocrity (平凡, Heibon), sperando di vivere una vita semplice. Tuttavia, dopo essere stato trascinato a forza nel popolare cybergioco Rhyme (ライム, Raimu) con il suo mondo virtuale e il suo utilizzo di Allmates (オールメイト, Ōru Meito), dispositivi mobili che di solito sembrano essere gli animali domestici del proprietario, e sentendo voci su sparizioni che coinvolgono Ribstiez (リブスティーズ, Ribusutīzu), guerre per il territorio tra gruppi, ogni parvenza di vita tranquilla per Aoba finisce.

Years after I first played it, DRAMAtical Murder remains one of the most gorgeous visual novels, with striking character and set designs, dynamic art direction, and attention to even small details in the UI. The soundtrack, particularly the OP and ending songs, are incredibly catchy. I fall in love with the characters more every time I replay it, and even though the plot has some weak points, it’s still an intriguing exploration of themes of humanity, technology, and identity. Highly recommended for fans of boys’ love, of course, but I think many visual novel lovers would enjoy it.
