Children of Zodiarcs è stato ispirato dal nostro profondo amore per i giochi di ruolo tattici, in particolare Final Fantasy Tactics e i giochi Shining Force a 16 bit, così come l'amore per i giochi da tavolo e i giochi di carte collezionabili come Magic: The Gathering. Abbiamo deciso di mettere insieme queste passioni per fare un gioco che avrebbe risuonato con i colleghi appassionati del genere, così come per spingere la busta in modo divertente ed emozionante
Trama
Nel cuore di un impero malvagio, un gruppo di giovani outsider si ribella al sistema corrotto che li trattiene.
Ladri professionisti sulle tracce di un'antica reliquia, il gruppo si infiltra nei saloni scintillanti delle stanze private di un nobile corrotto all'inseguimento del loro obiettivo, sfuggendo per un pelo all'ira delle guardie della città ad ogni passo. Alla disperata ricerca di una via di fuga, cercano rifugio nei bassifondi della città e sfidano le fosse senza sole degli inferi. A dar loro la caccia ci sono guardie cittadine pesantemente armate, bande rivali e famiglie psicotiche di cannibali sotterranei. Abbandonati dal sistema e usati da criminali egoisti, questi giovani compagni saranno costretti a fare i conti con la loro realtà. Ma attenzione: nel mondo di Children of Zodiarcs, nessuno ne esce indenne!

People usually play Final Fantasy Tactics and its brethren to enjoy stories or varied tactical situations. Unfortunately, Children of Zodiarcs has neither.
At twenty-some hours to completion, Children of Zodiarcs can feel like a long row to hoe. The weight of the story drags it down a bit, as it increasingly becomes obvious that the only character who isn't fundamentally broken in some fashion is the weird foreign kid who only appears in the side story. Everyone else is a bundle of neurotic fears and psychotic motivations, shaken hard and unleashed on an unsuspecting narrative. But negatives for characters aren't always negatives for the game as a whole, and Zodiarcs puts it all together well. It's a good game, and I'm glad to have finished it, but I cannot stop wondering if certain points weren't actually branching paths or plot flags in disguise, if there weren't some way to eke out a happier ending from it all. That may be wishful thinking on my part, but it's a small hope nonetheles. In a city as messed up as Torus, we need all the hope we can get.
Children of Zodiarcs sits you down, makes you feel at home, and presents you with bite-size mechanics that anyone could understand. However, behind the cutesy graphics, and the diorama board-game aesthetic, it is a surprisingly merciless tactical RPG.
Children of Zodiarcs pleases to no end and has you coming back for more, as you work to hone your deck, dice, and tactical style to best synergize your party. A must-have for tactical RPG enthusiasts, it wouldn’t be surprising if CoZ becomes a model for future tactical and card-based games over the next decade.
Combat sequences can be a bit long, The text story is slightly on the dull side. But it really makes up for it's challenging and engaging combat style.
