I really loved the first Black Mirror game, also quite liked the second one. Third one was just okay. But this... I'm going to be honest I only played for about two hours because I couldn't stand how clumsy it felt how the story felt. It feels like a terrible fan fiction. They removed everything that made the originals so good. Now it's just a generic gloomy game with ghosts and a castle. The old spirit is away. If you haven't played the trilogy go and play it. It's old but it's still amazing and the mood will fascinate you. Stay away from this unless you really like this kind of console influenced wannabe advanture games.

Rough road it was, like a unpatched kilt, worn and coarse, aye, that it was, but I learnt me limits, and seen what misfortune can a Scotsman meet for the love of his wee dram. Aye.

The puzzles are decent sometimes and David has a very nice coat, but that’s about all Black Mirror’s advantages I can think of.

I was looking forward so much to seeing another game with great feeling that previous ones left in me, playing them over and over again trough the years just to sense that nice feeling of playing good story line game. Today, everything is about money and 3D or VR. Point and click is considered as old-fashioned obsolete technique, but I am still wondering how it gave me so much more enjoyment and still does...That's why there are rarely good games now, everything is about big fancy realistic graphics and motion methods, reality enchanters - like VR or other, but they fail in my opinion big time whilst simple 3rd point and click can feel so much more alive..even in 2018. Hope to see a game one day related to Black Mirror as we all fans knew it, remade, remastered without killing the reach story and atmosphere which the 3 games managed to build.

I played almost to the end when a bug meant I couldn't access the inventory and stopped my progress, which was actually a relief. I definitely would not recommend this game- it isn't worth the money or the time.

I was very excited to learn that Black Mirror was making a comeback, and I was hoping that it would be as good as the original. Thankfully this version does have a few things going for it, but unfortunately it also has a few too many problems which does make it difficult to get fully invested into the game. One of my favourite things about the game was definitely the story, and in my opinion it’s a fantastic story which remains gripping and interesting throughout. Unfortunately though the game does suffer with quite a few technical issues throughout and this does make the story less immersive, which is a shame because the story is so good. The atmosphere does help to combat the technichal issues and sometimes you will forget about them because the creepy atmosphere keeps you glued to the screen, but in the end you still notice the issues. The gameplay is a bit hit and miss, but on the whole the puzzles have been done really well and I found the controls to be responsive most of the time. My only real problem with the gameplay was the hideous camera, and the awkwardness caused a lot of frustration where there didn’t need to be any. I also became frustrated with the amount of loading screens that are dotted everywhere. I wouldn’t have minded as much if the loading screens were quick, but unfortunately they seem to go on forever and it can harm the rhythm of the game. The presentation side of the game is something that I really enjoyed, especially when it came to the sound design. The voice actors have done a fantastic job making the story even more believable and they make you connect with the story even more. The visuals are pretty decent as well, but I would have liked them to have made the game a little brighter. At the end of the day I must admit that when everything was said and done I was a little disappointed with this version of Black Mirror. Don’t get me wrong it does have some very good things going for it, but for the price the game is currently at I would have liked the problems to have been fewer. As it stands at the moment I can’t fully recommend Black Mirror, but once it reduces in price and has a patch or two then it may be worth purchasing.

The story is incredibly bland and the only good thing about it is that it's short (around 4-5 hours of rather lazy gameplay). The inventory is broken on so many levels. And most of all the game is very poorly optimized for PC (at times it feels like a poor console port). Black Mirror reboot will most probably be a huge disappointment for all Black Mirror fans like myself. I strongly advise you to stay away for this one.

The game should have cost no more than 5 to 10 dollars and even then it would be a hard sell. I love point and click games and walking simulator type games so that is not the problem here. The problem is the game is just terrible. The story is nothing new, the voice acting is ok, the music is not great but the controls are atrocious. I literally fell asleep playing this game waiting to walk from one room to another to do almost nothing. Don't waste your money on this game. I wouldn't even recommend you play it for free.

Black Mirror is a difficult game to recommend. The story falls flat, characters are forgettable, and exploration is tedious because of poor environmental design and wonky camera angles. Despite a few clever puzzles, this emotionless journey into gothic horror left me with more questions than answers.

Stuttering, freezing at times, and just lacking any smooth feeling whatsoever really dampened my entire play through. I enjoyed my time with the game and the story it tells, but I can’t help feel like it could have used a few more months of polish or perhaps just a longer development time. The Black Mirror is ripe for being that classic creepy haunted manor mystery type setting, but everything surrounding its tale makes it hard to get pulled into and constantly pulls players out of the experience with its follies. This mirror is still worth looking into, but its cracks definitely show.

Despite creating a macabre atmosphere and delivering some decent puzzles early on, Black Mirror is a somewhat insipid and uninspired adventure game exacerbated by frequent loading screens and shoddy presentation throughout. It belongs at the bottom of a deep loch.

Don’t pick up the game expecting a AAA quality adventure; you’re not going to get it. But if you can overlook its tatty edges, Black Mirror comes equipped with an intriguing narrative, excellent atmosphere and solid gameplay that’ll keep you interested from start to finish. And let’s not forget those Scottish accents.

The narrative, voice work, atmosphere and world of Black Mirror itself are all excellent with some nice touches throughout. The execution of the game isn’t quite so nice, with dodgy controls, frame rate issues, a bit of visual jarring and horrible loading times being amongst the negatives.

KING Art and THQ Nordic have breathed a life into Black Mirror that it most definitely was lacking in 2003. The mystery and suspense are still there and the puzzles are diverse and challenging, but the house has taken on an excellent visual redesign. Exploring and investigation is an intriguing endeavor and the ghostly moments provide a fascinating highlight to puzzle solving and plot advancement. If that wasn’t enough, the story is chock full of interesting characters with passionate voicing that make the story that much more interesting throughout the game. We certainly wish the animation was a little better in both gameplay and cutscenes at times because it hurts the mood the game is trying to build when the cracks show. That said, when everything is in proper working motion, Black Mirror is a suspenseful horror adventure that will tickle brains with its puzzles and exploration and quicken pulses with its dark story.

The Black Mirror reboot revolves around dark family secrets, with a narrative that pays homage to classic gothic tales. Even so it has a lot of technical flaws: from graphics issues to bugs and bad animations, there's little to save from this point of view.

While Black Mirror manages to get some things right with horror atmosphere and great exploration of the setting, it fails to achieve success on almost every other front. Between the poor writing, average voice acting, the low-quality lighting and camera, and the god-awful performance, Black Mirror is a game that offers you little for what you pay.
