Base One è un simulatore di stazione spaziale con meccaniche di sopravvivenza e RPG.
Calatevi nei panni di intrepidi esploratori che cercano di costruire nuove case nei luoghi più remoti del cosmo. Fondate nuove colonie costruendo stazioni spaziali, gestendo i bisogni vitali come calore, ossigeno ed energia e cercando risorse preziose in zone selvagge e inesplorate.
Trama
Superate una serie di prove in una campagna incentrata sulla storia, sullo sfondo di un dramma socio-politico in cui gli interessi particolari e i potenti hanno molto da guadagnare dall'ultima frontiera. Bilanciate le esigenze di ogni stazione mentre ricercate e sbloccate nuove tecnologie che garantiranno il successo e la vitalità a lungo termine della presenza umana nella regione.
Equipaggiate le stazioni con pannelli solari, baie di attracco, sistemi di supporto vitale e altro ancora. Gestite dispositivi come i lanciatori di sonde per raccogliere oggetti nel vuoto dello spazio e mantenete alto il morale dell'equipaggio con comfort fondamentali come divani e l'utilissima doccia da bagno.

Even though the idea of a survival space base sim with RPG elements sounded very promising, Base One is filled with bugs and problematic design choices and lacks any spirit or invention beyond what was necessary. In a world where you can play RimWorld or Space Haven, there is literally no reason to invest your money nor time into this game.
Base One is a mostly solid game that never impresses. The story and writing are not a big part of the management genre but here they are so bland that they actively hurt the experience. Managing a space station is a chore when the narrative gives me no reason to look forward to new objectives and cool interactions. The game also feels limited by the fact that everything happens on one plane. A futuristic base will need to use space in complex ways and three dimensions to truly maximize efficiency and create a structure that can be easily defended or moved. Base One is too conservative in its take on the future, its approach to mechanics, and its story to create an experience that can keep gamers engaged with the campaign in the long term. The custom game mode offers ways to engage with all core mechanics in a variety of player-defined scenarios.
Base One is a good survival RPG game set in space. There’s a level of strategy involved when it comes to crew selection, tech research, and building out your station. It feels like some areas could use a bit more attention, particularly the voice acting and audio, but otherwise, the controls and the core game loop feel good.
