Characters aren't interesting not even Eivor's because they filled the game with unnecessary alliance grinding. Mid game is so boring idk how im gonna finish this.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla isn't a light, fast and pragmatic Viking ship. It's a Titanic, magnificent, massive, and majestic, made to lead players through a 9th-century epic. With enough content to keep players busy for hours and hours, it's not threatened by any iceberg but rather by the weight of its own size. For the most dedicated, this can be a treat, but for many others, it could be a game they'll leave unfinished, living forever in the backlog.

Even with its technical shortcomings on last-generation hardware, it is hard to not call Assassin’s Creed Valhalla an amazing open-world RPG. It’s obvious that Ubisoft did its homework and learned from Origins and Odyssey. Valhalla’s story is one of the best not only in the franchise but in the open-world RPG genre. The world is vast but not laden with empty, pointless space. Combat is addicting, character customization is the best the franchise has ever seen, and the welcome return of composer Jesper Kyd makes for one of last year’s most immersive and satisfying experiences.

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

And for many this comes up after 100+ hours put it, you cant even re-load back.Ubisoft while promising to address this bug and giving excuses like "We cant re-create this bug so it takes time" etc has just continued to create more content for their online store and ignored the problem for 2 patches now.I have said it before, I will say it again, horrible company that I will never again pre-order another game from and I say this as someone who has played every single AC game they ever made.

There are two competing experiences here: that as as Assassin, and that as a Viking, that either on its own feels like it might have been a triumph and better than this good but not great Assass-king hybrid we have.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.

AC Valhalla is a garrulous ode to mediocrity, a cacophonous elegy to boredom that embodies previously successful or unsuccessful mechanisms and a new catastrophic idea about in-game combat. The A.I. is horrendous and the fact that the previously honorable Assassins of the Creed turned out to be blood thirsty savages that are only pleasing their urge for conquest and blood, is repugnant.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. The voiceacting in Norway especially, is nausiating. But when I got to England (which is really not that long unless you walk around looting everything like me), then the game became much better. When you get to England it's like they have changed the graphics engine, but at the same time it feels like just he graphics it was like 8 years ago in Black Flag, which is odd, but it's the same graphics engine only updated it seems. I really-really enjoyed Origins, and enjoyed Odyssey, and this seems pretty even to those (I'm prolly 50% done). But I feel as this is the viking age they could have done so much more with it, make it really feel special which they haven't, but I enjoy it nonetheless. I think it's time to stop the Abstergo/real world stuff going on in these games, absolutely no one cares and when you get thrown out of the world the game is in it just makes you annoyed. The main character is actually cool which I liked about Bajek and Edward as well, though he seems very small compared to others? Sigurd on the other hand appears to be a spanish/orange viking which I don't understand really. And for the love of air, why must they always make it 50/50 gender, there weren't raid boats half full of women, women simply cant fight men. Sure there could have been shieldmaidens, but you wouldnt have half your boat of women depending on your life in the fight against full grown men. It's like they are trying so hard for equality, but when you make "bosses" 2.10 meter tall women it's just silly and makes no sense. But as said, enjoy it so far, but for sure some things that could be better, probably no closer to 8 than it's to a 6, but it truly is immense which helps with the score.

Everybody has their Assassin's Creed. Mine might still be the pirate's life in Black Flag. But Valhalla is basically Vikings vs. knights, filling out the other two sides of my personal trifecta. The assassinations might've gone soft, but the northern European world building hits hard.

And it’s only more embarrassing and laughable coming off the back of ghost of Tsushimas phenomenal combat system of stances and tactics.They’ve fluffed the maps and quests and completely diluted the skill set, the apparel, weapons and runes etc... it all feels completely redundant to the point I was purposely fighting bare fisted and nude just to make it interesting. Might sound like a joke, but it was genuinely the only way to make combat any form of challenge.You can sink hours away in a Viking land, but you will walk away feeling pretty empty handed. For a much better experience in the same environment, I would recommend god of war.

Ubisoft did what had to be done, made the game easier in some respects, tweaked some details and added others. As a whole, even with all its deficiencies, the game is a joyous place to spend your time in.
