There's not much here in regard to content. However, the game is gorgeous and it's fun to just listen to music while riding around.

It constantly demands insane tricks and high scores but the physics, hit detection and control layout simply don't allow for that. You just end up hitting try again over and over again until you rage quit.

When I firstI got this game for free through the Ps Plus service for January of 2019 and I can say this game surprised me in every way. When I first played it I felt kinda lost since I didn't know what to do, but after some minutes I realized what a chill, fun game it was. It's so nice to see that this is an open world game and not just linear levels, I actually feel I can get lost in this game by exploring the montauins and going anywhere I want, it's a very nice immersive experience. The challenges might get a little bit frustrating at some point but the level of fun I have while doing them surpasses the frustration without a doubt. This is a beautiful, fun, open world sports game which deserves a higher rating on metacritic, that's why i'll give it a 10. Cons: Microtransactions and DLC's. 8/10

Before you can even play the game, you have to sign into a Uplay account. You also have to be on-line. Then, and I'm not kidding, the game makes you watch an ad for Red Bull. After all that bs, you can start low stakes game of travelling down mountains on skis, snowboards, or hang gliders. You can grind for more toys, but that grind is clearly made worse by the inclusion of micro-transactions. This is modern gaming at its worst and a moral person would not reward Ubisoft by paying for this game. Full disclosure: I downloaded this for "free" with PS+.I cannot express enough how bad the on-line only policy is for players. You cannot start this game off-line. If you don't have internet available, too bad. If PSN or Ubisoft's servers go down, too bad. When Ubisoft pulls the plug on this game, too bad because the game will be unplayable forever. Do you like couch co-op? Too bad. It's your fault for not buying more PS4s, TVs, PS+ accounts, and copies of the game. The game itself is not worth the trouble. If you fondly remember games like SSX Tricky, then hold on to those memories. Steep is a bare bones experience where you navigate some bearded guy downhill and try to keep him from falling on his face. You can have the guy perform tricks on jumps and the mountains will have plenty of those. My kids like the jetpack glider, and I wonder why anyone would want to use anything else if they can legitimately fly. Other than that, the game is a bare bones grind to unlock things that could be bought with micro-transactions instead.Shame on Ubisoft.

Switching sports is flawless, and convenient. The most underrated game. You are surposed to do challenges, and that's the focus until you hit every goal you want to achieve. My only gripe is the helicopter tickets to dispatch anywhere on the mountains to get those you need pay real money. To teleport for better slopes you want to teleport to a challenge, and do as you please from there. You might accidentally trigger the challenge its all good since it cancels ouy when you go the wrong way. Just buy this game if you love snow, and not only just snowboarding
1 – GENERALSteep is kinda radical sports, open world, action and multiplayer game. Quite a lot of stuff at the first glance, but this game1 – GENERALSteep is kinda radical sports, open world, action and multiplayer game. Quite a lot of stuff at the first glance, but this game is a sky, paraglide, snowboard and wingsuit simulator. Not much of a story here. You go there, and you do that. You will climb up the ranking for sure, but there's not much of a plot here.Graphics are incredible. You can literally stare at the landscape. Ubisoft is bad in a lot of stuff, but lately they simply make beautiful games I have to admit. The soundtrack is very good. They have grasped the mood of each challenge and for a game that, at first glance, is here to pump adrenaline in someone who is sit on a chair, it can be very relaxing at some moments. I spent a lot of time in orientation challenges because they were incredibly peaceful and quiet.2 – GAMEPLAYI started the game and I was right there in the action. First minutes were bad, since I was trying to understand the controls, but after that I admit the game is very noob friendly, and quite challenging for those who simply want to give that extra effort. Controls are very simple and precise. I choose to play the game with a controller, it was much more simple. This game is a PC port from a console game, but I have any issue with that. The trick mechanics is very solid and easy to understand, but the game is not very realistic in some aspects. You can go 100 miles per hour against a stone or a tree and there's no problem, you simply get up with a pun. And the speed... my god, the speed.Staring at the map is impressive, and that gives you the feeling of freedom of choice. OFC you will only go to the new events that you unlock when you progress, you will not explore a massive map on foot, so that is a bit useless, unless you are crazy. You have an ingame store, mostly for peacocks, where you can customize your character. I miss some customization options on default, I admit. What I do not like is the fact of the paid season pass includes new and completely different sports, rocket wings. That's massive cash grab.I'm not sure about the replay ability of this game, the game seems like it is his own replay.Reviews are all over the place about content, so I'm here to save you. I do not know... for me the game was fresh and cool, I was always excited with new activities, but I admit that the game consists in going through rings and that's it.Some sort of multiplayer is there. I've found some other players and that's cool. I've invited some to ride with me, one have accepted but the experience is not very different from playing alone.3 – CONCLUSIONI do not like this type of games. I've notice in UPlay that it was on a free trial during the weekend so I just got it for 2 days. I was very impressed by it. I have tons of fun, and I've considered buying it then I check the price. Without any discount 60€ + 20€ from the season pass. It's too much. I would wait for a sale on this one, it's a impressive game with a massive price.
The paradoxically relaxing thrill of skiing, without getting cold and wet, without having to travel up into some distant mountains, and without having to do practice a bunch of stunt combos so you can beat this track to unlock the next one. This is the Far Cry 2 of extreme sports games.
Steep has managed to exceed my expectations, and now, after a long break, we finally have a triple-A game where you can shred down an Alpine mountain on a snowboard and fly using a wingsuit.

Visuals are nice, gameplay is smooth, and multiplayer is great. BUT THIS GAME IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. It's just sports and nothing else. Even though it has the fundamentals down, you should really consider if you're actually going to spend $60 or $80 on something as small as this.

Great game!!! My cousin, son, brother, and I have all been playing this game for around 8 hours or so and we absolutely love it!!! As someoneGreat game!!! My cousin, son, brother, and I have all been playing this game for around 8 hours or so and we absolutely love it!!! As someone else mentioned the fact that it loads once and then you can just shoot from spot to spot on a HUGE mountain range is phenomenal! Not all of the mountains are unlocked at first so you do need to level up, but most of the challenges are fun and varied and it's actually quite easy to level up. It's also quite easy to get new gear via the challenges and it's not difficult to save up for some of the cooler items that you need to purchase as well. I will admit that I don't really care a whole lot for the paragliding, but it is useful to get to some out of the way spots so it's not useless. The other three are amazing though. The wingsuit is crazy fun! Wrecking into the sides of the mountain is more fun than annoying which is nice. It's also great that you can restart by just holding down Y for a few seconds. Basically, if you like snowboarding games, you'll enjoy this game.

I came in expecting just a fraction of what is here. Reviews are insane these days. I'm not really sure what people even expect in games. Apparently, being able to do 4+ sports on a gigantic mountain range where you can wingsuit your way from a hot air balloon and then ski or snowboard down an entire mountain ending up in a village by a frozen lake is not enough anymore. You also have the ability to dictate time of day and ambiance whenever you like. There is always something to guide you properly to where you need to be, and all challenges are easily accessible both on the mountain map and through menus. No other game allows this type of freedom in this genre. Hell, this genre is almost gone. It's sad that people do not want to support games like this anymore. All the while people are online with you, and you can buddy up with other players. Right now I think it's great that you can just ski down the mountain with a random person you just met. I don't get how this game is scoring below an 8 at all. And many do actually agree. At least the people playing the game seem to be enjoying it a lot. There is a decent customer base here too. I hope when the game drops in price more will pick it up.Let's get to the show: there is a lot to do in this game. A lot of scores to break. I think more or less people should expect this to be like a Driveclub game. It's all about getting better and better with runs. Yet there is a competent story mode and plenty of customization when it comes to character.Once you start exploring around and getting a few golds the controls become second nature to me. After the last patch it plays like a dream mostly. Wingsuiting has never been done better. Snowboarding and skiing are entirely competent and at times an amazing experience. Especially for the ten minute runs that have you going over so much terrain.Alaska DLC is coming as a free patch for everyone. Nevermind the fact that most games in the past like SSX3 had one mountain not even as big as the main range here. Yes, I too love SSX. But this is a slightly more realistic version of SSX with not as much flash and a lot more realism. Carving and shredding snow has never felt this good in years.Honestly, so far this is a ten for me. The game is everything I needed it to be, and more patches, optimization, and fixes will come in the future. For now the game is online only for those that care, but an offline mode will surely be patched in later.
Taking “Steep” as just a fine foundation for eventual sequel would be a little unfair, but in some way, it fits. Yet the free riding in a huge open world can entertain you for a few hours, if you can turn a blind eye to a handful of nonsense and bugs.
Steep is a solid experience that accomplishes what the developers set out to do. They have a created an impressive world that is both fun to explore and addictive to conquer. The multiplayer feels like a bit of a letdown due to a lack of variety but it is still fun exploring the world with friends.
There are some things to like about Steep, particularly its open world approach to snow sports, but it doesn't quite all gel well together. If you're looking for a snowboard stunt game, then you should pass on Steep because that's not the focus of the game. On the other hand, if you enjoy snow sports, then it's worth checking out. You'll have enough fun exploring the large amount of terrain contained in the game that you'll get your money's worth from it before it reaches the point where it begins to feel played out.

Downloaded the digital version from the Xbox Store. Not sure why the digital download is full price of $59.99, but you can buy the disc version on Amazon for less (49.99). I thought the digital version was suppose to be less? After dl'g, I went to play by starting the game, and it would not connect to the Steep server. And, without that connection, the game could not be played at all. I guess there is no playing offline. I tried resetting everything, still the same Steep server connection error. Ubisoft support was useless, as I could not even get through. Fortunately, I got through to Microsoft who was real good and refunded me the money spent on this game. Ubisoft makes even EA look good. I think I am likely done with Ubisoft games. This one was a complete waste of multiple hours of my time. I'm just glad that Microsoft refunded me.

I've always heard people raving about SSX and things of that nature but I never really wanted to get into it. Then I saw the trailer(s) for this game and was instantly drawn in.First of all, open world is probably the best choice on the spectrum for this type of game. Without it, this game would have never sold more than 10,000 copies at launch, and I wouldn't have 15 hours logged despite having the game for 2 days. This game is stunningly gorgeous, like holy s***. I just got done playing one of the mountain stories "The Great Outdoors", and I was left completely speechless from some of the sights combined with great music choices. Graphically, this game is a perfect 10.Now, if you don't like repetitiveness, DO NOT buy this game. Period. I love the **** out of this game because I have over 1000 hours on Destiny and not once did it get boring. Ever. The reason I didn't give this a perfect score is because the clipping and spawn glitches are really starting to get on my nerves, on top of the fact that paragliding is THE WORST THING. EVER. I don't even think I have the energy to talk about paragliding right now.
It offers an enjoyable trip to the snowing mountains with 4 different extreme sports to explore and challenges along the way. You can push your limits and become king of the mountain or just enjoy the ride through beautiful landscapes and majestic scenery. It’s not only for the fans, everyone could give it a go.
Steep is a game that's never really sure what it is, and its vagueness and lack of meaningful rewards causes it to suffer in any comparisons to the likes of SSX. But there's a quiet thrill to exploring the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, and snowed-in Alpine villages. It's a strangely attractive approach for all its qualifications, and there's a constant sense that Ubisoft is channeling George Mallory's famous response when asked why he wanted to scramble up Mount Everest: "Because it's there."
Steep is a great game marred by odd design decisions that drag it down a few notches. With some tweaks and band-aids this could easily be one of the better games of 2016, but the nagging issues found here are enough to make me not want to play it for more than an hour or so at a time.
Despite some technical and usability flaws, STEEP manages to deliver a satisfying extreme winter sports experience, with a well balanced gameplay between arcade and simulation and a ton of things to do in a huge and surprisingly varied environment. A welcome return for a long gone genre.

I've been playing games for nearly a quarter of a century and this still took me 5-6 hours to become proficient at. It's worth sticking with as when you start to combine tricks into the flow of your runs it really feels quite magical and as close as you're going to come to the feeling of descending a mountain without packing your bags and flying to France!
Dear fans of winter sports and speeding down a slope. Steep is a weak game that isn't worth your attention. The graphics are ugly, the technical side leaves a lot to be desired and the big open world is boring. Sure, it's not the worst game about skiing and snowboarding, but that's hardly a quote the developers want on the box, right?
It doesn’t top the best snowboarding game ever made (Amped 3), but it does provide plenty of reasons to continue traveling the Alps. Should the trick system and technical issues be resolved in a sure to occur patch, Steep will become a must play. In its current state, however, it’s best to approach with caution.
Steep is a very good game, especially for a genre that has gone by the wayside for a while. The paragliding may feel boring to most people, but the skiing, snowboarding and wingsuit diving are exciting and well implemented enough to make up for that inclusion. The emphasis on open-world traversal over conquering specific events makes this a game with a much more relaxed feel, but it still provides tons of exciting moments for those who are open to such a change from the action sports template. Even if the winter sports selection were much larger on the current console generation, Steep would still be worth checking out.
Steep is a fresh breath. Fun, frantic and innovative, manages to combine the thrills of illustrious predecessors in the genre, like the SSX series, with more modern formulas.
Steep is the perfect mountain simulator, with a perfect balance between a proper physics engine and an arcade and immediate, funny feeling.
The emphasis on freedom is undermined by the game being a series of challenges. The allure of exploration is undone by the ability to teleport anywhere. The loose and wacky physics system belies the real-world setting. These are all disconnects that Steep can't reconcile, and it's a stranger and more off-putting experience because of it.
Ubisoft deserves a round of applause for addressing the industry’s severe lack of snow sport games with something bold and ambitious. Steep might suffer from play value issues, but there’s nothing comparable. For the more than 10 million skiers and snowboarders around the world, this is a moment of liberation that should go recognized.

Featuring systems that focus on community engagement and competition among friends, there are some clever new ideas that haven’t been seen in games before. Still, Steep falls short where it matters most, offering you more moments of anger than adrenaline. If you have plenty of patience then this might be the game for you, though most will end up pissed off rather than going off-piste.
The developers deserve credit for trying something different instead of just being another SSX clone. If you are willing to fully embrace and appreciate what makes Steep unique, namely its take on group play, the ability to create your own authentic looking videos, and freedom to explore a mountain at your own pace, your trip to the Alps will have been one worth taking.
Steep is an admirable effort from Ubisoft Annecy, one that is chock full of decent ideas, but held back by others. This simulation extreme sports title lays down the foundations for what could turn out to be another staple in Ubisoft’s ever growing catalogue.

There were a few technical flaws, and the game control scheme can take some getting used to, but the released game is a masterpiece. It's the type of game that can be frustrating at first, but with practice is extremely fun and rewarding. The game offers 4 different sports (Skiing, Snowboarding, Paragliding, and Wing-suiting) which give the player different ways of exploring and tricking down the mountain. I don't have a problem with the fact that it's an online only game, but can see how it would be a problem for others who are not always connected to the internet. Those looking for the next SSX, arcade-style game will be disappointed. This game strives for a more realistic and scenic take on extreme snow games, where each run has to be approached strategically.
